SNICKERDOODLES

Location:  INDOOR
Minutes:  5-15
Formation  CIRCLE
Activity Level LOW
Age levels ANY
People 10-60
Supplies CANDY, ENVELOPES, HAT, GLOVES, SHIRT, KNIFE, FORK

Instructions:  The number of groups will determine the number of packets of candy needed.  Each group needs one gift wrapped package which you make ahead of time.  Take the candy and wrap it in the paper several times 4-6 times depending on the strength of your paper, taping as you go.

Divide your group so that each group has about 5-10 players.  Each group needs to sit in a circle.  Give each group 1 dice, 1 hat, 1 scarf, 1 pair of gloves, 1 gift, and 1 set of silverware.  Everything is placed in the center of the circle except for the die.  One person begins and rolls the die - if he or she rolls ANY number except a SIX, he or she must pass the die to his or her right and the next person rolls.  The first person to roll a SIX does the following:  puts on the hat, scarf, and gloves, grabs the knife and fork, and tries to unwrap the gift.  MEANWHILE the die is still being passed around the circle and players continue to roll.  The next person to roll a SIX must grab all the items from the person dressed up, put everything on, and continue to try to unwrap the gift.  Play continues until the package gets unwrapped.  Everyone can then open and enjoy the contents of the candy!

Leader's Hints:  There's no need to tell the players what is in the package - let it be a surprise.  Be sensitive to allergies - avoid any product with peanuts in it.  Package doesn't have to be big, just enough for folks to have a few M&M's or whatever.  This game can easily be tweaked to follow a theme party - for example, at a Luau you might use a lei, visor and golfing gloves or for a costume party you might use feather boa, mask of some sort, long evening gloves.  It is best to use real silverware as plastic breaks far too easily.
