Benedictions

1  Numbers 6:24-26

The Lord bless you and keep you;
The Lord make His face shine upon you,
And be gracious to you;
The Lord lift up His countenance upon you,
And give you peace.

2  II Corinthians 13:14
May the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all.

3
Go forth to live and serve and love.
Go forth, filled with a joyous heart.
May God’s many blessings enrich our lives
and enable us to live with thanksgiving today and always.

4
Go forth
to live
to serve
to love
to care.
Go forth, living in the Good News of Jesus Christ. Amen.

5
May you go now into the world to live and work and serve.
Go forth to grow in God’s love.
Go forth to be a model of caring and compassion.
Go forth to share the Good News that we know and see in Jesus Christ.
Go forth living always in hope. Amen.

6
Go from this time of worship, out into the world.
Go from this place
to live God’s will,
to pray and serve,
to be awe struck by God’s mighty acts,
to share love with all we meet,
to feed the hungry and care for the sick,
to act as peacemakers,
and to fill the world with hope; in Christ. Amen.

7  Summertime Benediction
Go forth, go into the world.
Go into these warm days of summer.
Enjoy God’s creation and all that God provides.
Celebrate the summertime of the earth
where life is enhanced by rain and long days of sunshine.
Go forth sharing, witnessing and living the Good News. Amen.

8— A Franciscan benediction for challenging times.
May God bless you with discomfort …
At easy answers, half-truths and superficial relationships,
So that you may live deep within your heart.

May God bless you with anger …
At injustice, oppression and exploitation of people,
So that you may work for justice, freedom and peace.

May God bless you with tears …
To shed for those who suffer from pain, rejection, starvation and war,
So that you may reach out your hand to comfort them
And to turn their pain into joy.

May God bless you with foolishness …
To believe that you can make a difference in this world,
So that you can do what others say cannot be done.
Amen.

9
Let worry recede.
Let fear disappear.
Let anger melt,
for we know a different home,
are called by a different name.
and are forever wrapped in GodÕs love.
Go in peace and may the peace of Christ
make each day new.

10
Rejoice always and everywhere.
Pray unceasingly.
Care compassionately.
Serve graciously.
Live faithfully.
And may God enable you to do so.

11  Colossians 2:6-7
As you ... have received Christ Jesus the Lord, continue to live your lives in
him, rooted and built up in him and established in the faith, just as you were
taught, abounding in thanksgiving.

12  Isaiah 52:11-12
Depart, depart, go out from here! Touch no unclean thing; go out from the
midst of it, purify yourselves, you who carry the vessels of the LORD. For you
shall not go out in haste, and you shall not go in flight; for the LORD will go
before you, and the God of Israel will be your rear guard.

13  Romans 8:37-39
We are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am convinced
that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor rulers, nor things present, nor
things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor anything else in all creation,
will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.

14  Selections from Joshua
Be strong and of good courage; be not frightened, neither be dismayed. The
LORD your God is indeed God in heaven above and on earth below. Sanctify
yourselves, therefore, for the place where you stand is holy.

15   Philippians 3:14, 16; 1:1
Press on toward the goal for the prize of the heavenly call of God in Christ
Jesus, let us hold fast to what we have attained. Grace to you and peace from
God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.

16   Acts 4:29-30
And now, Lord ... grant to your servants to speak your word with all boldness,
while you stretch out your hand to heal, and signs and wonders are performed
through the name of your holy servant Jesus."

17   Romans 15:5-6
May the God of steadfastness and encouragement grant us to live in harmony
with one another, in accordance with Christ Jesus, so that together we may
with one voice glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.

18   Colossians 3:15-17
And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to which also you were called in one body; and be thankful.

Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom, teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.

And whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.
