POPSICLE PICTIONARY

Location:  INDOOR
Minutes:  5-15
Formation  CIRCLE
Activity Level LOW
Age levels ANY
People 8-12
Supplies WOODEN POPSICLE STICKS

Instructions:   Divide the players into small groups of 4 to 10. Have the groups sit in a circle and give each group a supply of popsicle sticks - about 15 or so is usually plenty.  Play pictionary using popsicle sticks instead of a marker.  Have the person who is the artist for the group come up to the leader.  Show all the artists at the same time the picture if you have more than one group playing.  Use things that can be easily depicted sun, tree, chair, sailboat, etc.  Each artist then goes back to his or her group and begins to arrange the sticks into a picture until his or her group correctly guesses the design.

Leader's Hints:  It is better to use pictures of what you want the artist to draw if you are working with a group with very young children who can't read yet.  This game is easily adapted to themes - such as things found at a campsite fire, tent, tree, spider, moon.
